Helpful Travel and Housing Information
Area Map
Please find a general map of the North Shore of Oahu. This map illustrates ceremony location, reception location, and a several activies in the surrounding area.  For more information on activities, shopping, and attractions, please contact Benji or Cat directly and we will assist you.
Flights

Direct flights from California to Honolulu are generally easy to find and around $300-500 round-trip per person. Hawaiian Airlines, Delta, and Alaska Air have the most routes and best pricing. No need to fly to another island, most flights can be booked direct to HNL (airport code) on Oahu.

Transport

The Honolulu airport is approximately one hour from Haleiwa, the North Shore, and recommended accommodations. The only place to rent a car on the island is near the airport. We highly recommend that you make arrangements to rent a car or split this expense with your party, as it will provide you with the maximum freedom needed to explore the island. If you are looking to Uber from the airport to the North Shore, we suggest you stay in the town of Haleiwa so that you can get around by foot, Aloha Bus, or hitch a ride with friends. There are no taxis and very few Uber once you get into the country. Renting a car is the best option for getting around in a timely manner and traveling to other areas of the island, such as Waikiki or Kailua.

Accommodations
Part of the charm of the North Shore is that we are in a remote area that has a very country feel. Although there is one resort (Turtle Bay)  on this side of the island, we recommend splitting a vaction rental with friends and family. This makes cooking meals, working out, relaxing,  and enjoying the North Shore a lot easier as there are no restaurants besides the hotel's offerings at Turtle Bay and the food trucks / Foodland at Shark's Cove! The majority of all the eating establishments are in Haleiwa.  Air B & B is a great resource for housing but Vacation Rental by Owner may have more listings as they are regulating Air B & B at this time. We suggest staying in between Turtle Bay Resort / Kawela Bay and  the town of Haleiwa for your location parameters in the search of the sites, please see above Area Map for reference. There are several beaches that would be lovely locations to stay off of Kamehameha Highway including Laniakea Beach, Chuns, Leftovers, Sharks Cove, Ke Iki, Log Cabbins, Pipeline, Sunset Beach, and Velzyland. Another option that is close that is just up the mountain is Pupukea. This area is located right above Shark's Cove / Waimea Bay. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Caterina (caterinacal@gmail.com) with questions or a booking link. For your convenience, I have listed a couple of properties, websites, and contact info to help aide your search.
The benefits of staying at Turtle Bay Resort include numerous onsite restarauants, child friendly pool and slide, beach club, golf,  great work out classes, and the rest of the hotel amenities. For families traveling with small children, Turtle Bay is a wonderful option!
The Turtle Bay Condos are a seperate entity from the hotel and offer a slightly larger living space, including a kitchen. These are located directly on the golf course and right next store to the hotel. The Turtle Bay Condos have their own pool that is seperate from the resort.
Sunset Hale is a three unit oceanfront property at Sunset Beach that our friends own and manage. Please check out the website for the different units and contact info.
